The Estelle station, named after Miss Estelle Bernice Heber, daughter of Anthony H. Heber, is a standard section maintenance house stationed by Milepost #672 and established in April 1903 by the Imperial Gulf railroad; one of the last standard ‘Desert Design’ houses of its kind still publicly available today, having been renovated as recently as 2016, courtesy of the Pioneer Museum, and their dedicated team of volunteers and staff. Inside, furnishings and decoration can be found that tell a story of the daily work and life that was to be expected of maintenance housing at the time.
