Palmetto School

Palmetto School, or Central School, as it was often referred, was founded in 1907 located near Holtville, and remained in use for some time before being merged with other early schools, Eastside and Sunset Springs, to form the Pine Union School district.

The school area was moderately large, and included a well, water tower, lighthouse, woodshed, outhouses, and a playground for the students. 1
